About
Ivo Makianich is a painter and educator whose work explores the relationship between time, space, and memory through a reductive, time-bound painting process. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he grew up in California before moving to New England for graduate school. While studying painting at California State University, Long Beach, he worked at an architectural engineering firm, an experience that continues to inform his artistic practice through an analytical painting approach.

He teaches in the Rhode Island School of Design’s Summer Pre-College program and has also taught at Boston University and Eastern Illinois University.
